Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Interventional Cardiology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Heart Vascular and Thoracic Institute is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join its Interventional Cardiology team on the Main Campus. The role involves caring for both inpatient and outpatient cardiology patients and may include new graduates with cardiac medicine experience.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Interpret laboratory, radiology, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures as credentialed.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state licensing and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients about disease processes, treatments, and medication side effects.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and quality monitoring activities.
• Serve as a clinical preceptor for students and assist with onboarding new caregivers.

Required profile

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years; graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• Current Nurse Practitioner license and RN license in the applicable state(s).
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required.
• Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of the hospital.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to perform advanced assessment, diagnosis, and interpretation of cardiac diagnostic tests.
• Knowledge of medication prescribing and monitoring guidelines for cardiology patients.
