Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Hospital Medicine

About the role

The Department of Hospital Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a qualified Family/Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the day team. The provider will deliver inpatient care from admission through discharge, working at the top of their license in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform admission histories and physicals, daily rounding, and evaluate patients with clinical changes.
• Coordinate care with consult services, lead multidisciplinary rounds, and manage discharge planning.
• Order and interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests as credentialed.
• Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state board and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients about disease processes, treatments, and medication side effects.
• Participate in quality monitoring, evidence‑based practice translation, and research activities.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• At least one year of inpatient medicine experience preferred; new graduates with relevant exposure considered.
• Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (and RN) and national certification.
• MSN required within three years of hire (or at hire for external candidates).
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program as required by the work setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification where applicable.
• Use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and order entry.
