Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Hematology/Oncology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Hematology/Oncology team at Indian River Hospital. The role involves delivering comprehensive care to adult patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain detailed histories, perform physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic studies.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to schedule, order, and administer chemotherapy, and manage related side effects.
• Perform credentialed procedures, assist with hospital rounds, and coordinate discharge planning, follow‑up care, and survivorship services.
• Educate patients on disease processes, treatment plans, and medication side effects.

Required profile

• Current licensure as an NP (RN license required) or PA with national certification.
• Clinical experience in Oncology; newly licensed candidates must have completed Hematology/Oncology rotations.
• Compliance with state board requirements, including physician supervision agreements and credentialing.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) as applicable.
• Prescribing authority and DEA registration where required.
• Ability to order and interpret laboratory, radiology, and cardiographic studies.
