Advanced Practice Provider – Medical ICU (Part‑Time)

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Medical ICU team on a part‑time basis. The provider will work 12‑hour day or night shifts on a rotating schedule, covering approximately six to seven shifts per month.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ICU rounding and lead the Rapid Response Team.
• Conduct comprehensive histories, physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Perform critical procedures including intubations, central line and arterial line insertions.
• Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state licensure and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatments and discharge planning.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited APRN program (MSN required within 3 years of hire) or an A.R.C.‑approved PA program.
• Current state licensure as NP, PA or CNS with national certification.
• Basic Life Support certification; ACLS, PALS or NRP as required by the unit.
• Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee of the hospital.
