Advanced Practice Provider – Inpatient Neurology & Stroke (Night Shift)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute seeks a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to work night shifts on inpatient General Neurology and Stroke services. The position offers a sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates and provides an attractive pay differential for night work.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients with new neurological symptoms, establish diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
• Provide direct inpatient care on Stroke and General Neurology units, including histories, exams, ordering and interpreting labs and imaging.
• Collaborate with physicians, fellows, residents, and other APPs while exercising autonomous medical decision‑making.
• Participate in medical team rounds, discharge planning, and quality monitoring.

Required profile

• Nationally certified NP (adult, family, or acute care) or PA.
• Inpatient neurology experience preferred; newly licensed candidates with neurology interest are welcome.
• Must hold current state licensure, BLS certification, and appropriate advanced cardiac or pediatric life support certification.
• Ability to work night shift (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neurological assessment and interpretation of lab and imaging results.
• Prescribing and medication monitoring within state and institutional policies.
