Advanced Practice Provider – Inpatient Hematology Oncology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks nationally certified Advanced Practice Providers (NP, PA, or CNS) to join the inpatient Hematology Oncology service on the Main Campus. You will provide primary and specialty care to adult oncology patients, collaborating closely with attending physicians and the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Round with attendings and team members, assess and document patient status, and manage orders, symptom control, and discharge planning.
• Perform specialized procedures such as bone marrow aspirations, biopsies, IV starts, thoracentesis, paracentesis, suturing, and wound care.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state and Cleveland Clinic prescriptive authority.
• Educate patients on disease, treatment options, side‑effects, and preventive health measures.
• Participate in quality monitoring, research follow‑up, and data analysis.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (RN license required) or Physician Assistant in the applicable state.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program (MSN required) or an A.R.C. approved PA program (Master’s degree required).
• National certification for NP or PA, and BLS certification; ACLS, PALS or NRP as required by the service.
• Ability to work four 10‑hour shifts with minimal weekend coverage and occasional on‑call duties.

Required skills

• Clinical procedures: bone marrow aspiration, biopsy, thoracentesis, paracentesis, IV insertion, suturing.
• Interpretation of laboratory, radiology, and cardiographic results.
• Medication prescribing and monitoring within state scope.
• Patient education and counseling on oncology care.
