Advanced Practice Provider – Emergency Medicine Nights with Sign‑on Bonus

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Emergency Medicine team at Avon Hospital on a straight‑night shift. The role offers a competitive pay differential and a sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order/interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests.
• Develop working diagnoses and treatment plans, prescribe medications within licensure, and monitor patient response.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members during rounds and patient hand‑offs.
• Perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed, and serve as a clinical preceptor for students.
• Participate in quality monitoring, discharge planning, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (RN license required) or Physician Assistant in the applicable state.
• Minimum three (3) years of Emergency Medicine experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program (MSN required within three years of hire) or an A.R.C.‑approved PA program.
• National certification by a recognized nursing or PA organization.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, or Advanced Trauma Life Support as required by the work setting.

Required skills

• Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) certification.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnostic interpretation, and emergency procedures.
• Prescribing authority and DEA registration (for PA candidates).
• Ability to serve as a clinical preceptor and mentor.
