Advanced Practice Provider (Acute Care NP/PA) – Neuro ICU – Sign‑on Bonus

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care certified) or Physician Assistant with neurocritical or critical care experience to join its Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The position offers full scope of practice, including admitting, discharging, and performing ICU procedures, with rotating day, evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and order/interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests for critically ill neurological patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including neurosurgeons, neurologists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists—to develop and implement treatment plans, perform ICU procedures, and ensure continuity of care.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state and Cleveland Clinic policies, and participate in patient education, discharge planning, and quality monitoring activities.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the applicable state(s) with national certification.
• Acute Care certification and experience in neurocritical or intensive care settings; new graduates with extensive ICU experience will be considered.
• Completion of an accredited APRN program (MSN required within 3 years of hire) or an A.R.C.-approved PA program.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as applicable.
• Proficiency in neurocritical care procedures, ICU patient management, and multimodal monitoring.
