Advanced Operator - Ring Soft Turn (2nd Shift)

About the role

Dauch Corporation, a driveline and metal forming supplier for the global automotive industry, is hiring an Advanced Operator for the Ring Soft Turn machine on the 2nd shift. The role covers setting up and supporting machines in the Machine Centers area, and includes coordination of customer and supplier activities, CNC programming and maintenance coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Support and set up all machines in the Machine Centers area, including two technologies within the established time study.
• Create and install CNC programs and coordinate setup activities using the department schedule.
• Coordinate customer and supplier containment activities, and lead and take part in cell launches of new products (prototypes).
• Coordinate maintenance activities, perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot maintenance repairs.
• Take part in machine runoffs, quality process assurance and autonomous maintenance (daily pre-operation inspections).
• Drive improvements to meet budget targets (CIMS), take part in budgeting and propose improvements.
• Lead and take part in CI processes, identify repetitive failures and act on failure analyses, and lead problem-solving teams.
• Help define Poka-Yoke and contribute to equipment design where applicable, and choose machining speeds and feeds.
• Lead sorting activities in-house or at customer sites.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with courses in industrial or mechanical technology, industrial maintenance or post-secondary technical training, or an equivalent mix of education and on-the-job experience.
• Career Readiness Certificate.
• Three to five years of experience in machine technology/operations and routine maintenance preferred.
