Advanced Operator Hard Turn - All Shifts

About the role

Dauch Corporation, a driveline and metal forming supplier for the global automotive industry, is hiring an Advanced Operator for Hard Turn across all shifts. The role supports and sets up all machines in the Machine Centers area. The legal entity listed is GKN Drivelin Newton LLC (Delaware).

Key responsibilities

• Set up two technologies within the established time study.
• Create and install CNC programs and coordinate setup activities using the department schedule.
• Coordinate customer and supplier containment activities and participate in machine runoffs.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot maintenance repairs.
• Develop plans to meet budget targets (CIMS), take part in budgeting and lead the cell on quality process assurance.
• Take part in program and cell launches of new products (prototypes) and lead and run CI processes, including corrective actions.
• Define autonomous maintenance activities such as daily pre-operation inspections, identify repetitive failures and act on improvement suggestions.
• Share team knowledge, contribute to Poka-Yoke and equipment design where applicable, and choose machining speeds and feeds.
• Lead sort activities in-house or at customer sites and lead a problem-solving team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with courses in industrial or mechanical technology, industrial maintenance or post-secondary technical training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Career Readiness Certificate.
• Three to five years of experience in machine technology/operations and routine maintenance preferred.
