Advanced Operator - 2nd or 3rd Shift

About the role

Dauch Corporation, a driveline and metal forming supplier for the automotive industry, is hiring an Advanced Operator for the 2nd or 3rd shift. The role supports and sets up all machines in the Machine Centers area. The legal entity listed is GKN Drivelin Newton LLC (Delaware).

Key responsibilities

• Support and set up all machines in the Machine Centers area.
• Coordinate customer and supplier containment activities and setup activities using the department schedule.
• Set up two technologies within the established time study and create and install CNC programs.
• Take part in machine runoffs, maintenance coordination and routine maintenance tasks.
• Develop plans to meet budget targets (CIMS) and take part in the budgeting process.
• Take part in program and cell launches of new products (prototypes) and lead the cell on quality process assurance.
• Lead and take part in continuous improvement (CI) and corrective actions, and act on improvement suggestions.
• Help define autonomous maintenance activities such as daily pre-operation inspections.
• Share team knowledge, contribute to Poka-Yoke and equipment design where applicable, and identify machining speeds and feeds.
• Analyze failures, lead in-house or external sorting at customer sites, troubleshoot maintenance repairs and lead a problem-solving team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with courses in industrial or mechanical technology, industrial maintenance or post-secondary technical training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Career Readiness Certificate.
• Three to five years of experience in machine technology/operations and routine maintenance preferred.
