Advanced Endoscopy Technician, PRN

About the role

The Advanced Endoscopy Technician provides hands‑on assistance to physicians during a wide range of endoscopic procedures at Indian River Hospital. This PRN position works a day shift from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm and supports a collaborative, patient‑focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians with all endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS, EMR, ESD, POEM and related advanced therapies.
• Maintain and clean endoscopes, change chemical sterilants, complete documentation logs, and report any equipment damage.
• Support the RN with patient admission, room setup, transport, recovery, and final room cleaning.
• Transport specimens and make pre‑operative calls to obtain patient information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMT) credential.

Required skills

• Proficiency in advanced endoscopic techniques such as ERCP, cholangioscopy, electrohydrolithotripsy, stent placement, EUS‑guided procedures, EMR, ESD, POEM, POP/G‑POEM, STER, Zenker’s diverticulotomy, RFA, cryoablation, and balloon dilations.
• Scope cleaning, maintenance, and sterilization procedures.
• Specimen handling and transport.
• Patient communication for pre‑operative information gathering.
