Advance Practice Provider (NP/PA) – South Pointe General Surgery PRN

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider to support the South Pointe General Surgery team. This PRN position involves operative assistance, post‑operative patient management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary staff.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as first and second assist in the operating room and conduct post‑operative rounding.
• Complete post‑operative discharges, discharge summaries, and manage PACU patients.
• Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical exams, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state licensing and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients on disease processes, treatments, and medication side effects.
• Participate in quality monitoring, length‑of‑stay management, and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• APRN: MSN required within 3 years of hire; graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• PA: Graduate of an A.R.C.‑approved Physician Assistant program with a master’s degree.
• Current state licensure as NP or PA and RN (for NP), with national certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS, PALS, NRP, or ATLS as required by the work setting.
• Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of the hospital.
