Advance Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellowship

About the role

The Digestive Disease Institute seeks a full‑time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) specialty medical home. The provider will serve as a principal clinician for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate comprehensive IBD care, including inpatient management and outpatient follow‑up.
• Perform preventive care tasks such as biologic screening, vaccinations, and bone densitometry.
• Prescribe medications, assess symptoms, and manage urgent or scheduled patient visits independently.
• Provide patient and family education on IBD, serve as first point of contact for IBD‑related needs, and coordinate with primary care and local providers.
• Utilize remote monitoring and telemedicine platforms when available.
• Review and interpret diagnostic testing, and participate in research, education, and quality‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with appropriate state licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program (MSN required) or A.R.C.‑approved PA program (Master’s degree required).
• Basic Life Support certification; ACLS, PALS or NRP as required by the work setting.

Required skills

• Prescribing and medication management within scope of practice.
• Clinical documentation and interpretation of laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic results.
• Use of health‑care technology for remote monitoring and telehealth.
