Adjunct History Instructor – Multiple Campus Locations

About the role

Lanier Technical College is seeking part‑time adjunct instructors to teach History courses across its campuses in Georgia. The position is non‑benefits‑eligible, FLSA‑exempt, and compensated with a lump‑sum payment based on contact hours. Classes may be scheduled during day or evening sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional instruction following the approved course syllabus and ensure learning outcomes are met.
• Prepare curriculum materials, develop lesson outlines, and create assessments.
• Evaluate student progress, grade examinations, and maintain accurate grade records.
• Participate in in‑service training, workshops, and seminars as required.
• Adhere to safety, security, and all deadlines set by the Associate Dean of General Education.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in History, or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate semester hours in History plus relevant coursework.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse adult learners in classroom settings.
• Preferred: experience teaching in a post‑secondary environment, online instruction experience, and bilingual ability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using computers and job‑related software programs.
• Familiarity with student information systems.
