Adjunct Faculty – Commercial Truck Driving

About the role

Join the State of Georgia as an Adjunct Faculty member teaching the Commercial Truck Driving Licensing program. This part‑time position allows you to share your industry experience with aspiring truck drivers while working flexible daytime hours.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise students in classroom and hands‑on training for commercial truck driving.
• Develop course outlines, lesson plans, and assessment tools aligned with program goals.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain required documentation and certification records.
• Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and budget requests.
• Ensure safety and compliance with training‑area regulations.
• Collaborate with staff on recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current Georgia Department of Driver Services Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License.
• At least one year of experience as a commercial truck driver (three years preferred).
• Associate degree (preferred) and strong human‑relations skills.
• Familiarity with FMCSA rules and USDOT drug‑and‑alcohol compliance.
• Ability to work flexible hours and meet safety standards.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for instructional software
