About the role

Virginia Highlands Community College is seeking qualified professionals to join its pool of adjunct faculty for the School of Business and Industry. This part‑time position involves teaching day and evening classes in a variety of business‑related disciplines, providing flexible opportunities for experts to share their knowledge with community college students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instructional sessions for assigned courses, preparing lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects, and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that aligns with college policies.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development as needed.
• Assist the college during emergency declarations or special assignments when required.

Required profile

• Minimum qualifications required by the accrediting agency for the specific discipline taught.
• Relevant academic preparation and professional experience in one of the listed business or industry fields.
• Ability to teach both day and evening classes on a part‑time basis.
• Commitment to student success and adherence to college standards.
