Adjunct Faculty – Business, Engineering & Technology (Hybrid/Online)

About the role

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses within the School of Business, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Technology, and Tourism Management (S‑BEAST‑TM). Positions support on‑campus, hybrid, and fully online delivery formats and contribute to UMES’s strategic goals of expanding access and strengthening the state workforce pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in on‑campus, hybrid, or online modalities.
• Develop and deliver course materials aligned with approved UMES syllabi.
• Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback on assessments.
• Utilize the university’s Learning Management System (LMS) effectively.
• Participate in departmental meetings and support accreditation and continuous‑quality‑improvement efforts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline, OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to student‑centered teaching.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery.
