Student Support Liaison – General Assistant

About the role

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is seeking a Student Support Liaison to provide one‑to‑one behavioral, communication, and functional assistance to an assigned student with accessibility needs. The liaison works directly with the Office of Student Accessibility Services, the student, and campus staff to ensure the student can fully participate in daily campus activities.

Key responsibilities

• Attend all scheduled interactions with the student, faculty, and staff.
• Accompany the student to classes and between class transitions.
• Reinforce appropriate classroom behavior and redirect disruptive actions.
• Follow classroom protocols, including etiquette, safety, and device usage rules.
• Report any classroom or student‑related concerns to Student Accessibility Services promptly.
• Maintain availability records and complete bi‑weekly timesheets.

Required profile

• Willingness to complete all hiring paperwork and adhere to confidentiality and academic integrity policies.
• Reliability in notifying staff of any unavailability.
• Ability to work on‑site during the student’s campus presence.
