Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Critical Care House Officer

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks experienced acute‑care Nurse Practitioners to join a critical‑care house officer team that provides rapid, short‑term interventions for hospitalized patients across all services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations, rapid response/code activation, and urgent patient management.
• Execute critical procedures such as airway management, central line, arterial line, chest tube placement, intubation, and ventilator management.
• Maintain continuous communication with multidisciplinary providers and oversee care for all admitted patients within the regional hospital.
• Participate in a 3‑4 month fully paid training program and work a rotating schedule of day, night, weekend and holiday shifts (13 shifts per month).

Required profile

• Licensed RN in the applicable state with at least 3 years of critical‑care RN experience (acute‑care NP experience preferred).
• MSN degree required upon hire or within three years.
• Demonstrated clinical competence, strong verbal and written communication, and ability to work autonomously at the top of licensure.
