Actuarial Analyst - Employee Health & Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring an Actuarial Analyst for its Employee Health & Benefits team in Raleigh. The analyst develops analytical tools and supports internal and external stakeholders, working with clinical and benefit advisors to build strategic approaches based on clinical and actuarial data. The role covers analysis and modelling of clients' medical and pharmacy costs and their drivers, and modelling the financial impact of changing medical and pharmacy networks using locally developed pricing models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop analytical tools and support stakeholders internally and externally with clients
• Work with clinical and benefit advisors to design strategies based on clinical and actuarial data
• Analyse and model clients' medical and pharmacy costs and their drivers
• Model and communicate the financial impact of changing medical and pharmacy networks
• Occasional travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as needed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or a related field (required)
• Strong analytical skills shown through coursework and experience
• Completion of at least one actuarial exam is strongly preferred
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Effective communication, writing and editing skills with attention to detail
• Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
• Plus: current Life & Health licensure or ability to obtain it within 90 days, and prior broker experience
