ACNP/PA – Hospital Medicine – Swing

About the role

This position provides acute care nursing or physician assistant services for hospital medicine patients on the Medical Center floors, working collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, nurses and discharge coordinators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary and urgent medical management, including emergency stabilization of critically ill patients.
• Teach and mentor residents, medical students, and staff.
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and care coordination with PCCs and staff nurses.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Current APRN license (NP) or PA license in the state of practice.
• Certification in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or PA program graduate.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority as defined by state boards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and data entry systems.
• Computer literacy for electronic health record retrieval and documentation.
• Basic knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols.
