Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

Recycle Track Systems (RTS), a technology-driven sustainability company focused on transforming the waste management industry, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist for its Finance team. The position is remote in the United States, full-time, and covers invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliations and collections while keeping financial records accurate and payments timely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete client invoicing process, from preparation through completion, including contract-based and on-demand customers
• Handle customer portal submissions, billing updates and related documentation
• Review customer contracts to verify billing accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve invoicing issues and account discrepancies
• Monitor accounts receivable performance, including aging reports and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
• Record journal entries, apply payments accurately and reconcile payment activities, settlement batches, bank deposits, general ledger accounts and customer accounts
• Maintain accurate customer records and investigate outstanding balances and billing disputes
• Conduct collections activities and negotiate payment arrangements for overdue accounts
• Support accounting projects and help improve accounts receivable policies and procedures

Required profile

• At least two years of experience in accounts receivable or accounting, with a focus on collections
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in waste management is an added advantage

Required skills

• Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with strong data analysis skills
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems
• Understanding of invoicing, payment applications, account reconciliations, journal entries, collections and financial reporting
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an advantage
