Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

Apache Industrial Services is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist I in Houston, reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. The role supports billing, invoicing, cash application and collections for assigned regions, handling high-volume billing across many contract types and resolving billing and payment questions with internal teams and customers. It is a full-time, in-office position.

Key responsibilities

• Billing and invoicing: review contracts, purchase orders and service agreements, track project status, generate invoices, credit memos and debit memos, and process billing adjustments
• Cash application and collections: record cash receipts and retainage, monitor A/R aging, follow up on overdue accounts and help with unapplied payments
• Resolve billing disputes and answer customer and employee questions about billing and payments
• Month-end and reporting: post daily and weekly revenue, assist with month-end close, prepare billing and A/R reports and support audits
• Customer accounts and compliance: set up customer accounts, validate TINs, ensure correct sales tax on invoices and follow credit review procedures
• Follow safety rules, suggest process improvements and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• 1+ year of accounts receivable, billing or accounting experience
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Preferred: experience in accounts receivable and billing in the engineering and construction industry
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with discretion over confidential financial information
