Accounting Director - E-Commerce (Remote)

About the role

HireHawk is recruiting a remote, full-time, long-term contractor as Director of Accounting for meetalleyoop.com, a fast-growing cosmetics company expanding in the omni-channel space. Reporting directly to the CEO/COO, the role covers financial strategy, accounting operations, tax and regulatory compliance, and investor relations. Pay is listed as $3,000 - $4,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, lead financial planning, forecasting and budgeting, and advise the CEO and senior management
• Manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensure timely financial statements, monitor cash flow and liquidity, and set up internal controls
• Evaluate debt financing options, manage lender relationships, prepare reports for lenders and investors, and support fundraising analysis
• Own multi-state sales tax compliance across all 50 U.S. states, oversee federal and state corporate compliance, and manage annual tax filings with the outside CPA
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, join the executive leadership team, and work with other department heads on expansion, partnerships and M&A
• Recruit, mentor and develop the accounting and finance department

Required profile

• Senior accounting or financial leadership experience (Director of Accounting, VP of Accounting, Controller or CFO), ideally at a company with $10M-$50M in annual revenue
• Deep e-commerce experience in a consumer goods / CPG business, covering D2C, Amazon and wholesale channels
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred

Required skills

• Strong to advanced understanding of accounting for a consumer goods business, including inventory accounting
• Experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Experience preparing financial reporting for lenders and investors and supporting debt/equity financing
• Strong knowledge of multi-state sales tax and corporate compliance
