Accounting Summer 2027 Intern (Accelerate Program)

About the role

Avis Budget Group is offering a 10-week summer internship through its Accelerate program, designed to help students explore different parts of the business and build a career. The internship is based in Parsippany, New Jersey, and focuses on accounting tasks such as reconciliations, journal entries and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Complete annual schedules of concessionable revenue for airport year-end requirements.
• Maintain monthly reconciliations by generating and comparing output from the Oracle Accounts Payable and ledger systems, and researching items that need to be reconciled.
• Assist in gathering data required for external airport auditors.
• During the monthly closing process, record journal entries in the Oracle general ledger.
• Analyze and reconcile account statements relating to landlord financial discrepancies.
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required.

Required profile

• Active enrollment at college or university, with at least one year of coursework completed.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or another related business field.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, manage time well, work independently and in a team, and handle a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel skills (a must).
• Solid PC skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel); knowledge of Oracle is mentioned in the duties.

What we offer

• Annual hourly rate of $30.00.
• Possibility to extend the internship or transition to a full-time opportunity, depending on availability and performance.
