Accounting Subject Matter Expert

About the role

Rillet is building an industry‑defining accounting and finance platform and needs an Accounting Subject Matter Expert to shape product features that meet complex finance professional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert on technical accounting topics.
• Translate complex accounting workflows and compliance requirements into clear product specifications.
• Define, prioritize, and execute features aligned with customer needs and business goals.
• Partner closely with engineers and designers to deliver accurate, intuitive solutions.
• Gather feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and the market to inform product development.
• Create product documentation, release notes, and training materials; support QA and user acceptance testing for finance‑related features.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or accounting operations.
• 2+ years owning accounting processes with a track record of creating operational efficiencies using AI or new technology.
• Strong project‑management and organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Thrives in fast‑paced startup environments with a sharp eye for detail and process improvement.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, Sage, or Oracle.
• Knowledge of SaaS revenue recognition and ASC 606 (strong plus).
