Accounting Manager (Construction) – Cleanup Project

About the role

Beech Valley is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a short‑term cleanup engagement for a construction client in Portland, OR. The role starts ASAP and runs for about one month, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a high‑impact accounting cleanup effort, prioritising and executing fixes quickly.
• Review and strengthen reconciliations, account support, and close‑related deliverables.
• Identify gaps in documentation and controls, then implement practical improvements.
• Partner with stakeholders to clarify ownership, timelines, and dependencies.
• Operate in a SOX‑aware environment, ensuring workpapers and approvals are audit‑ready.

Required profile

• Accounting Manager‑level experience, preferably with a background in construction accounting.
• Comfort working in SOX control environments with strong documentation and evidence requirements.
• Ability to work onsite, move fast and operate with minimal hand‑holding.
