Accounting Generalist (Finance & Accounting)

About the role

The Accounting Generalist supports the Plant Controller in all phases of finance and accounting to ensure accurate financial statements for the bakery plant. This role collaborates with shared services, sales teams, and leadership to uphold proper accounting practices and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with weekly income‑statement estimates and preparation.
• Prepare and enter journal vouchers.
• Maintain weekly corporate and local reporting.
• Support period, quarter, and year‑end closing processes.
• Analyze general‑ledger accounts and produce quarterly/annual schedules.
• Provide backup for routes & distributor accounting and accounts payable.
• Monitor and follow up on customer trade receivables.
• Contribute to annual financial planning, capital budgets, and product costing.
• Assist with personal‑property tax and business‑license filings.
• Help ensure SOX and internal‑audit compliance, including inventory management.

Required profile

• Knowledge of accounting principles and plant‑level financial operations.
• Familiarity with SOX, internal audit requirements, and corporate policies.
• Ability to interact frequently with shared‑service, sales, and leadership teams.
