Accountant - MUSA Fiduciary

About the role

Marsh is looking for an experienced Accountant to join its MUSA Fiduciary department in Urbandale. The role suits an independent contributor who works with minimal supervision and owns workstreams, projects or end-to-end processes within Accounting Operations. It is a hybrid position with at least six days per month in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Work independently with minimal supervision, owning tasks, priorities and deliverables and setting clear goals.
• Own entire projects or processes, including planning, milestones, progress monitoring and timely delivery.
• Provide guidance, coaching and training to peers and more junior colleagues.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external customers, vendors and stakeholders, resolving inquiries professionally.
• Influence operational practices and procedures by proposing recommendations and collaborating across functions.
• Solve complex, multifaceted problems by analysing root causes and interdependencies.
• Contribute to department results by collaborating across teams and sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Demonstrated experience in accounting operations or finance operations (or a similar transaction-processing environment).
• Proven ability to own and manage end-to-end processes or projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder partnering skills.

Required skills

• Process improvement: experience developing and implementing process improvements and monitoring their effectiveness.
• Training and coaching peers or junior colleagues in best practices and standard work.
• Data and statistical analysis and visualization: knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlik, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Query.
