Account Representative – Automotive Refinish (Maryland & DC)

About the role

We are seeking an Account Representative to join BASF’s Automotive Refinish team, covering Maryland, Washington, D.C. and the Mid‑Atlantic region. The role is field‑based, with a company car and up to 30 % overnight travel, and can be performed remotely when not on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the regional sales strategy to increase BASF market share and brand presence.
• Collaborate with the Strategic Account team to secure key sector shops.
• Work closely with distribution partners, scheduling visits to existing and prospective customers.
• Develop and review a Distributor Action Plan each month to align goals and track progress.
• Prospect new business, maintain relationships with premier shops, and log all activities in Salesforce (SFDC).
• Coordinate with Business Development Managers and Technical Representatives to ensure product demonstrations and technical service delivery.
• Provide training and support to distribution partners to sustainably grow market share.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling automotive refinish products or services.
• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with collision‑center customers and distribution partners.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 30 % of the time.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Salesforce (SFDC) or similar CRM systems.
