Account Manager - Employee Health and Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency's Midwest Region is a full-service brokerage offering business insurance, employee benefits, private client insurance and retirement services. As an Account Manager, you deliver services to clients by creating and implementing customized service plans, building strong client relationships, negotiating coverage and managing proposals and renewals.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement customized service plans for clients
• Negotiate coverage and manage proposals and renewals
• Maintain accurate client information and foster a collaborative service experience
• Lead renewal meetings and present at open enrollment meetings

Required profile

• 3+ years of previous insurance experience in applicable products and lines, funding mechanisms and employee benefit techniques
• Ability to interpret complex documents such as insurance policies, applications and proposals
• Self-starter with good time management and attention to detail
• Ability to work on a fast-paced, high-energy team
• Travel for client meetings as needed; a Life & Health license or the ability to obtain one is preferred

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and agency management systems
• Preferred: Applied Epic, GBA, CEBS, VBS or another benefits-related insurance designation

What we offer

• Base salary of $63,090 to $117,495, depending on experience, skills, location and certifications
