Account Executive - Employee Health and Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency's Midwest Region is a full-service brokerage offering business insurance, employee benefits, private client insurance and retirement services. As an Account Executive, you will lead your client niche, take charge of service execution, build a client base and use sales methodologies to manage and grow your accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the growth and retention strategy for a book of business and monitor its implementation
• Cultivate and expand relationships with new and existing clients
• Provide information, creative solutions and resolve client issues
• Prepare submission information, coordinate the marketing process and negotiate coverage, terms and premiums while fostering carrier relationships
• Visit clients to discuss renewals and manage account service requirements
• Handle customer service requests such as coverage reviews, analysis and recommendations, quoting, securing coverage and claims assistance

Required profile

• 7+ years of industry experience with in-depth knowledge of employee benefit plans, current healthcare trends and underwriting and financial techniques
• Broad understanding of insurance coverages, exclusions, program design, premium rating methods and policy audits
• Ability to accept ultimate responsibility for results and act consistently between words and actions
• Travel to local and long-distance client meetings as needed

Preferred but not required: Life & Health license, BS/BA in Business or Insurance, GBA/CEBS/VBS or similar benefits designation, experience with Applied Epic, and availability to work from home or the office depending on schedule.

• Base salary of $97,616 to $181,847, with possible performance-based incentives
