Account Manager - Business Insurance (Staffing)

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency's Midwest Region is a full-service brokerage offering business insurance, employee benefits, private client insurance and retirement services. As an Account Manager, you deliver services to clients by creating and implementing customized service plans, building strong client relationships, negotiating coverage and managing proposals and renewals.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement customized service plans for clients
• Negotiate coverage and manage proposals and renewals
• Maintain accurate client information and foster a collaborative service experience
• Manage the full marketing process and negotiate contracts

Required profile

• 3+ years' experience in commercial Property & Casualty insurance at an agency or related company
• Proven experience managing workers' compensation accounts and building trusted client relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter, highly organized problem solver with good time management
• Ability to interpret complex documents such as insurance policies, applications and proposals
• Ability to work on a fast-paced, high-energy team
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, as needed

Required skills

• Excel spreadsheets, Word documents and agency management systems
• Property & Casualty license preferred, or ability to obtain upon hire
• BS/BA in Business, Insurance or a related field; CPCU, ARM, CISR or similar designation is a plus
• Experience with Applied Epic is a plus
