Account Manager - Business Insurance (Select)

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency's Midwest Region is a full-service brokerage offering business insurance, employee benefits, private client insurance and retirement services. As an Account Manager on the Select team, you deliver services to clients by creating and implementing customized service plans, building strong client relationships, negotiating coverage and managing proposals and renewals.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong client relationships and understand their needs
• Negotiate coverage and manage proposals and renewals
• Maintain accurate client information and foster a collaborative service experience
• Review and present renewal proposals to clients, in writing, verbally or in person

Required profile

• 3+ years' experience in commercial Property & Casualty insurance at an agency or related company, preferably as an Account Manager
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter, highly organized problem solver with good time management
• Ability to interpret complex documents such as policies, applications and proposals
• Ability to work on a fast-paced, high-volume team
• Travel for client meetings as needed

Required skills

• Excel spreadsheets, Word documents and agency management systems
• Full marketing process and contract negotiation
• Property & Casualty license preferred, or ability to obtain on hire; CPCU, CLCS, ARM, CISR or similar designations are a plus
• Applied Epic experience is a plus
