Academic Technology Operations Coordinator

About the role

The Academic Technology Operations Coordinator supports the university’s teaching and learning mission by managing and optimizing technology environments across classrooms, conference spaces, digital signage, and workforce innovation labs. Reporting to the Center for Academic Technology, the role coordinates operations, projects, and service delivery to ensure reliable, accessible, and innovative learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Direct day‑to‑day operations of academic technology services, including AV systems, digital signage, and satellite learning spaces.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, and incident response processes.
• Lead technology upgrade projects, classroom AV integrations, and emerging‑technology deployments using formal project‑management methods.
• Collaborate with Campus Operations, ITS, Facilities, and external vendors to deliver integrated technology solutions.
• Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships for instructional and AV technologies.
• Advance responsible AI use in teaching, service automation, and data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of experience in academic or instructional technology operations.

Required skills

• Audio‑visual (AV) system integration and lifecycle management.
• Digital signage configuration and maintenance.
• Project management methodologies (scope, schedule, risk, budget).
• IT service management (ITIL) and incident response.
• Artificial Intelligence applications in education (ethical, accessible use).
• Technology procurement, vendor evaluation, and contract management.
• IT security, compliance, and digital accessibility standards.
• Standard productivity tools (Word, Excel, reporting, data analysis).
