Academic Internal Medicine Physician (Full-Time)

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking an Internal Medicine physician for an academic, full‑time position. The role requires board eligibility or certification in Internal Medicine, eligibility for an active Louisiana medical license, and is offered at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine. The physician will join a growing primary‑care team, provide high‑quality patient care, and contribute to medical education.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to develop customized care plans.
• Provide direct patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of chronic conditions.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents, offering leadership and guidance.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic health record system and support digital‑medicine initiatives.

Required profile

• Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine.
• Eligibility for active Louisiana medical licensure.
• Graduating Internal Medicine residents are welcome to apply.
• Open to J‑1, H‑1B visa candidates with a pathway to a green card.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC EMR platform.
