Academic Hospitalist – Brooklyn

About the role
NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn is expanding its academic hospitalist group. The position offers a dynamic environment where hospitalists rotate through house staff, nurse practitioner teams, dedicated hospitalist services, and consultative medicine blocks, supporting a closed ICU and a diverse, underserved Brooklyn community.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality inpatient care across multiple clinical blocks, including ICU, hospitalist service, and consultative medicine.
- Collaborate with house staff, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Participate in teaching and mentorship activities for residents and medical students.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and academic research within the health system.
Required profile
- Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Experience in hospitalist medicine, preferably in an academic setting.
- Commitment to serving diverse and underserved patient populations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Clinical expertise in inpatient medicine and critical care.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to teach and supervise medical trainees.
