Academic Coordinator

About the role

The Academic Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, academic, and operational support for the Department of American Studies, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations and effective program delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate student registration, advising support, and graduate clearances.
• Schedule courses, manage curriculum updates in the CourseLeaf Curriculum Management System, and assign graduate teaching assistant positions.
• Maintain office inventory, room reservations, and front‑office operations, including supervising Federal Work‑Study staff.
• Liaise with academic and administrative offices for registration, commencement planning, and event organization.
• Track alumni placements, compile statistical reports, and support recruitment and promotional activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of experience in education or academic affairs (or equivalent education/experience substitution).
• Knowledge of higher‑education policies, program management, and assessment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace products.
• Experience using CourseLeaf Curriculum Management System.
