About the role
The Roger Bacon Academy is seeking an enthusiastic 8th grade Math/History teacher for its Classical Charter School in Whiteville, NC. The role involves delivering a research‑based Direct Instruction curriculum and collaborating with a dedicated team of coaches and a Beginning Teacher Coordinator.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily lessons in Math and History using the Direct Instruction model.
- Maintain high behavioral and academic standards, providing individualized support to diverse learners.
- Collaborate with Academic Coaches and staff to continuously improve instructional practices.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and a valid North Carolina teaching certificate (or from a partnering state).
- Ability to work on feet all day, moving throughout the classroom to engage students.
- Commitment to the school’s mission of providing a strong intellectual, aesthetic, and moral foundation.
- Willingness to pursue continuous personal and professional growth.
