6th-8th Grade Science Teacher (Potential Openings 2026-27)

About the role

BakerRipley Community Schools is seeking enthusiastic 6th‑8th grade Science Teachers for potential openings in the 2026‑27 school year. Teachers will support the whole child by delivering high‑quality, innovative instruction and linking students and families to community‑based programs.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the Understanding by Design framework to create standards‑based, developmentally appropriate, and culturally relevant curriculum.
• Differentiate lesson plans to meet diverse learning profiles and design aligned formative and summative assessments.
• Use assessment data to adjust instruction, reflect on teaching practices, and continuously improve student achievement.
• Deliver curriculum knowledge effectively, manage classroom procedures, and provide frequent feedback to ensure understanding.
• Maintain a positive classroom culture with high expectations for behavior and character.
• Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams to ensure curriculum alignment and contribute to school instructional programs.
• Engage in professional development, seek feedback, and meet professional obligations such as deadlines and collaborative schedules.
