About the role
The Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) New York office seeks an Economic Research intern to support export and foreign market activities. This 3‑month, full‑time internship offers hands‑on experience in investor outreach, market analysis, and administrative support.
Key responsibilities
- Create target‑group lists for conferences using an online marketing database.
- Implement e‑mail campaigns to identify potential companies interested in doing business in Germany.
- Conduct targeted market studies of German industries and update PowerPoint presentations for investors.
- Perform performance analyses of various German sectors and compose weekly newsletters on expansion news.
- Analyze companies using the Hoovers database to assess investment potential.
- Handle general administrative tasks, maintain contacts with associations and government agencies, and manage archives.
Required profile
- Current or continuing student planning to attend graduate school.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and independent work skills.
Required skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
