1st Party Debt Collection Specialist

About the role

The 1st Party Debt Collection Specialist is responsible for recovering outstanding balances from former residents of Greystar properties. Working closely with Community Managers, the specialist ensures accurate documentation, compliance with regulations, and achievement of collection targets while handling disputed accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Make 50‑100 outbound calls daily to former residents with outstanding balances.
• Collect payments and meet established budget quotas and recovery percentage goals.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries, documenting actions for follow‑up.
• Review and validate disputed charges, conducting research to resolve inconsistencies.
• Maintain accurate resident personal and confidential information in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Collaborate with Community Managers to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

Required profile

• Experience in debt or accounts receivable collections.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential data.
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal collection laws and company policies.
• Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with former residents and internal teams.
