About the role
Join COST of Wisconsin as a Yard & Mechanic Shop Assistant to support the shop and yard teams in a fast‑paced environment. You will help keep the yard and workshop organized, assist with logistics, and learn hands‑on mechanical tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment, materials, and tools.
- Maintain and organize the yard and storage areas, ensuring easy access to parts and equipment.
- Perform general housekeeping, clean up debris, and support shop upkeep.
- Drive a forklift (training provided) and use hand tools such as drills and saws.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain DOT certification.
- Preferred: two or more years of mechanic training or experience.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and work both independently and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Forklift operation (training provided).
- Use of hand tools (drills, saws) and basic mechanical aptitude.
