Veterinary Technician - Medical Oncology

About the role

Join the Oncology team at Friendship Hospital for Animals as a Veterinary Technician specializing in Medical Oncology. You will support patients through diagnostics and treatment while providing essential client education and communication.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the oncology team with patient diagnostics and treatment procedures.
• Educate and communicate with clients about oncology care plans.
• Perform venipuncture and calculate medication dosages using medical math.
• Follow strict protocols for handling various chemotherapy agents.
• Maintain meticulous records and ensure organized workflow.
• Collaborate closely with team members to deliver compassionate care.

Required profile

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience, ideally in specialty medicine.
• Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
• Comfortable interacting with clients and providing education.
