Utilization Review Coordinator

About the role

Citizens Health is seeking a full‑time Utilization Review Coordinator to ensure the hospital’s utilization review function is performed accurately and efficiently. The position supports quality assessment, risk management, and staff education within the health information department.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct utilization review activities and certify patients as required.
• Coordinate the Quality Assessment and Risk Management program for the department.
• Provide educational training to staff and support professional growth.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Medical Record Science or graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum two years of experience in a Health Information Department or as a registered nurse; utilization review experience preferred.
• Current licensure with the Kansas Board of Nursing Examiners or ART.

Required skills

• Proficient in medical record review.
• Knowledge of CMS Prospective Payment System.
• Competent with computer terminals, personal computers, and office productivity software (email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
