About the role

The Upper Team Gymnastics Coach will oversee daily operations of the gymnastics program at Ochsner Fitness Center, planning and delivering training, coaching, and team events. The role supports athletes, parents, and staff while ensuring compliance with facility policies and health standards.

Key responsibilities

Manage all aspects of coaching at assigned levels, including program development and team events.
Enforce facility policies, maintain training records, and complete paperwork for meets and reports.
Communicate athlete progress to supervisors and parents.

Required profile

High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in an exercise‑related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of teaching or coaching experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED certification required within 30 days of hire.

Required skills

Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Nationally recognized certifications such as USA‑Weightlifting, CSCS, or NASM (preferred).
