Upper School Spanish Teacher

About the role

Westtown School is seeking a full‑time Upper School Spanish Teacher to join its faculty in August 2026. The teacher will deliver immersive Spanish instruction to high‑school students, fostering language proficiency and cultural awareness while contributing to the school’s residential and co‑curricular life.

Key responsibilities

• Teach four Spanish classes each semester using student‑centered, project‑based methods.
• Design immersive, culturally‑responsive lessons that develop critical thinking, communication and empathy.
• Integrate educational technology, including the Canvas learning management system, into daily instruction.
• Advisory duties for a small group of students and participation in school committees.
• Engage in co‑curricular programs, such as sports coaching, theater, or service initiatives.
• Participate in the Upper School residential program as a Dorm Parent or Dorm Affiliate, including evening duty and weekend responsibilities.

Required profile

• Fluent in Spanish with the ability to teach entirely in the target language.
• Experience teaching secondary‑level Spanish and a passion for language immersion.
• Commitment to the Quaker values and the holistic development of students.
• Willingness to contribute to residential life and co‑curricular activities.

Required skills
