Research Analyst – Emerging Technology Security

About the role

The Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET) at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service is seeking Research Analysts to support its core research areas on artificial intelligence, advanced computing, cyber, and biotechnology. Analysts will conduct literature reviews, build and analyze datasets, and produce clear written products for policy‑making audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Research Fellows, senior analysts, data scientists and center leadership to develop and execute research proposals.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of data sets, visualizing results for reports and presentations.
• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and synthesize findings for policy briefs.
• Prepare data visualizations, tables, and graphics to support publications.
• Assist with research interviews and identify additional data sources from non‑academic outlets.
• Co‑author and contribute to written publications, policy briefs, and briefing materials.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work with technical literature and empirical data.
• Excellent written communication skills for non‑expert audiences.
• Interest in security implications of emerging technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
