Unarmed Security Officer - Asset Safeguarding

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring an unarmed security officer in Reno, Nevada. The officer serves and safeguards clients in technology, media and telecommunications locations by conducting routine patrols, keeping a visible presence to deter incidents and reporting security concerns. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors and guests by carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including offices, common spaces, parking areas, access points and the perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, document observations and notify the right people.
• Complete detailed activity reports, share shift information with leadership and site contacts, and help deter unauthorized activity through a professional presence.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state and local laws.
